We arrive in London in time for our late morning tour of the
Palace, the official London residence of The Queen, which serves as both
home and office. View the magnificent 19 State Rooms used extensively by
The Queen and members of the Royal Family to receive and entertain their
guests on State, ceremonial and official occasions and which are lavishly
furnished with some of the finest treasures from the Royal Collection,
paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Vermeer and Canaletto, sculpture by Canova
and exquisite examples of Sèvres porcelain, and some of the finest English
and French furniture in the world. The Palace’s 42 acre garden is an oasis
for wildlife, and you can enjoy a garden walk that offers superb views of
the Garden Front of the Palace and the 19thC lake. After you leave the
Palace your afternoon will be yours to spend as you please. We will meet
the coach at the Royal Festival Hall (you will be supplied with an A-Z map &
it is very easy to find). The special exhibition this year features the
Queen as Head of the Commonwealth, and features many of the gifts received
from and outfits worn by her on her tours to the Commonwealth countries over
55+ years.
Timings: Leave local area 7.45am and return to local area
around 8 pm. Includes travel and (if booked) Buckingham Palace admission &
audio tour.
