Leaving the local area
at 8am, we travel to Alder Carr Farm at Needham Market where we will
have an
extended morning coffee stop (refreshments not included). If you wish you
will
have
time to buy drinks and snacks in the newly extended tearoom located in
a beautiful timber-framed 19th Century barn. During our
extended stop, you will have time to browse in the farm shop,
where you can
purchase a wide range of usual and unusual fruit and vegetables, a wide
variety of local and European cheeses and cold meats, baked goods
made fresh on the premises every day
such as quiche, sausage rolls, scotch
eggs and sausage pie and many other locally produced,
foods, meats, drinks,
juices, wine and beer.
We
will meet Bishops for our private charter seal trip, departing from Morston
Quay, near Blakeney, in a traditional clinker-built wooden boat we will wind
our way down the sheltered waters of the
creek to the far end of Blakeney
Point where, without going out into the open sea, seals can
always be seen
in their natural habitat. We will be able to observe both common and grey
seals
from the boat, basking near the water’s edge. The
experienced crew
will tell you all about the lives of these
delightful creatures and take us
in very close. There will be
plenty of birds to be seen too, so cameras
need to be ready!
At the end of our seal
trip, we will board the coach
again for
the short journey to Fakenham where you
will have the
remainder of the afternoon free to
wander around this historic and attractive Norfolk
market town. Leaving Fakenham at 5pm, we
return to the
local area around 8pm.
